What are these keystone species? Is there testing required before one decides to supplement with any of these? Can we bring in through food?

Hello Shanon: Yes, keystone species are available. Currently, clinically, I'm working with a sequence of pre- and probiotics with a method of total gut rejuvenation. Thus I start with a formula of 11 soil based species that start the terraforming process, and feed them with specific prebiotic foods for maximum germination. Then segue to a formula of many immune modulating species with prebiotic food. Then segue to a pre- and probiotic combination for neurological (gut-brain) connection. People in industrial settings, aka cities, are universally deficient in these species and most commercial (store) products are not employing the keystone species as those products use the in-bred, lab-incubator species. Thus, there's a sequence to rejuvenating the gut microbiome. I'm glad to help you acquire the formulas, but wanted you to know about the big picture of the 90-day rejuvenative process. If you wish to discuss further, please reply and we'll open a line of communication. Best wishes. I'll soon post more insights on gut microbiome rejuvenation at the clinical nutrition level. In the meantime, there's several other gut-microbiome articles posted on this Substack here. Blessings, Jack

So glad that I found you on here. I watched you and Christa many many years ago. I would love some information about these keystone probiotics. I have had many antibiotics throughout my life. Especially now with perimenopause and UTI’s. Any information would be appreciated

Hello Erika

Happy to have you on board here. Clinically, I’m implementing the program that Christa was starting to work with for and updated or sequel to Gut Thrive. It’s a series of pre-and probiotics with key botanical support. Features keystone species, a purification phase, an immune modulation phase, and a neuro (gut/brain) phase. So it’s major gut rejuvenation and optimization. Please call 512.328.3996 and let me know how to reach you. I can then send more info and help better. Glad to give you a call back. Take care.

Thank you so much for your kind words. For probiotic species to "stick" and take up residency, they need to be "human derived" not "lab-rat, inbred" species that know how to work with the immune system and other environmental factors: bile acids, and other species. The prebiotic food helps them germinate and like the abundant environment thus want to stick around and take up a niche. And the keystone species are the big contributors to the ecology. Take care of your belly garden and it'll take care of you.
